Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

TipSplit collects minimal information to function:

• Preferences (stored locally on your device): your selected currency, display language, and color theme. This data never leaves your device.
• Exchange rate requests: when connected to the internet, the app fetches currency exchange rates from third-party APIs (Fawaz Ahmed Currency API and Frankfurter). These requests include your IP address as part of the standard network connection, but no personally identifying information is sent by TipSplit.

We do not collect names, email addresses, payment information, location data, or any other personal information through the app.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

TipSplit displays banner advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Google may collect certain data to serve relevant ads, including:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA), subject to your consent via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt
• Device information and approximate location (country/region)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

If you decline the ATT prompt, ads will still be shown but they will not be personalized. For more information on how Google uses data, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

3. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On first launch, TipSplit will ask for your permission to track your activity across other apps and websites for advertising purposes, as required by Apple. You can change this setting at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iPhone.

4. Data Storage

All app data (preferences, cached exchange rates) is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults storage. This data is included in iCloud backups if you have iCloud Backup enabled. You can delete all app data by uninstalling TipSplit.

5. Third-Party Services

TipSplit uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob — in-app advertising. Privacy Policy
• Fawaz Ahmed Currency API (via jsDelivr CDN) — exchange rate data. No personal data is shared.
• Frankfurter API — fallback exchange rate data. No personal data is shared.

6. Children's Privacy

TipSplit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
